Rs. 1 lakh snatched from 75-year-old


Two motorcycle-borne robbers on Friday snatched a bag containing Rs1 lakh from a 75-year-old man in Noida, the police said.
Ramswarup, a resident of Sector 56, had withdrawn the cash from the Syndicate Bank branch in Sector 18 and was walking towards the parking lot, when the two men on a motorbike passed by him, snatched the bag containing the money, and fled.
"We have registered a case on Ramswarup's complaint and are trying to nab the robbers," said Inspector Vijay Prakash of Sector 20 police station.

Metro link to connect Ghaziabad with Noida

The process of linking Noida and Ghaziabad by Metro has started. The Uttar Pradesh government has approved the plan to connect the two cities, which are separated by a highway. Metro service is set to be extended to Ghaziabad (Vaishali) from Anand Vihar early next month. In an exclusive interview with Hindustan Times on Thursday, Noida Authority chief executive officer (CEO) Rama Raman said, “We have appointed Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) as consultant for a new Metro line from Noida City Centre (sector 32) to sector 62, bordering NH 24. Once we get there, we will go across the highway and link the Metro lines in both the cities.”
If one were to go to Noida from Ghaziabad now, one had to take the train at Anand Vihar, get off at Yamuna Bank and take another train coming from Dwarka. Currently, on the Noida line, the service ends at City Centre (sector 32)....READ MORE on Hindustan Times
