The process of linking Noida and Ghaziabad by Metro has started. The Uttar Pradesh government has approved the plan to connect the two cities, which are separated by a highway. Metro service is set to be extended to Ghaziabad (Vaishali) from Anand Vihar early next month. In an exclusive interview with Hindustan Times on Thursday, Noida Authority chief executive officer (CEO) Rama Raman said, “We have appointed Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) as consultant for a new Metro line from Noida City Centre (sector 32) to sector 62, bordering NH 24. Once we get there, we will go across the highway and link the Metro lines in both the cities.”
If one were to go to Noida from Ghaziabad now, one had to take the train at Anand Vihar, get off at Yamuna Bank and take another train coming from Dwarka. Currently, on the Noida line, the service ends at City Centre (sector 32)....READ MORE on Hindustan Times
